A physical server that has been partitioned into smaller, virtual containers becomes a virtual private server, or VPS as it is frequently abbreviated. A virtual private server is significantly less expensive than a dedicated server, yet it still has its own operating system, dedicated RAM, dedicated storage, and dedicated CPU resources.

1) A Virtual Private Server, or VPS, is a type of virtualized server that is housed on a physical server and has its own operating system and server resources assigned to it. Usually, virtualization software like KVM, XEN, OpenVZ, HyperV, etc. is run on this physical server.
2) You can run many virtualized operating systems on a single physical machine by using these virtualization softwares. For instance, CentOS 7 is running on the primary physical server, while virtual servers beneath it are running different operating systems, such as Windows Server 2012 or CentOS 6.X.
3) The physical server’s hardware resources—CPU time, RAM, disk space, etc.—are entirely under the control of the virtualization program. Because of this, it can construct, release, and manage each guest virtual machine’s resources with ease.
4) Since every VPS runs a separate copy of the operating system, users can install practically any program that can be run on the OS and have root or administrator access to that OS instance. Every guest computer has a certain amount of physical server resources allotted to it, and each virtual machine is isolated from the others according to the kind of virtualization.
5) Although VPS Hosting is far less expensive than Dedicated Server hosting, it is practically identical to dedicated server hosting.
